THE SHADOW OF TWO MAJOR CONCERNS
CEO North America / August – September 2022
The so-called post-pandemic “new normal” has brought with it a sense of optimism and relief, but also a rash of new challenges for us to consider, both in business and our daily lives. Two major concerns, in particular, have cast a shadow over the summer of 2022 in North America: rapidly spiralling inflation, and yet more extreme temperatures as a result of climate change.
In this issue, we profile a range of companies and business leaders looking towards a brighter future—from tech and telecoms giants Netflix and AT&T, with one eye on the everchanging technological landscape, to providers of energy and other vital services, such as Obsidian Energy, Peak USG, and Core & Main, all of whom are working every day to make our lives easier.
Strong and creative leadership is crucial during uncertain times. The decade so far has taught us to expect the unexpected, and only organizations with perceptive, brave, and flexible leaders can truly flourish at such times. The business leaders highlighted in our June-July issue reflect that mindset.
Elsewhere in the issue, our partners look at the impact of 5G, how institutional investors see the future of the oil and gas industry, and how business leaders can confront market volatility, an increasingly fluid workforce, and other issues arising from the post-pandemic era.
