Airbnb shares jumped more than 12% in premarket trading on Friday after the vacation-rental firm raised its full-year revenue growth forecast, betting on resilient global demand for leisure travel.
In Q3, revenue increased 19% year over year to $4.9 billion. GBV rose 21% year over year to $27.7 billion, driven by strong demand and a moderately higher Average Daily Rate (“ADR”). Nights and Seats Booked increased 16% year over year.
Airbnb’s net income was $1.9 billion, and Adjusted EBITDA grew 22% year-over-year to $2.5 billion, expanding Adjusted EBITDA Margin to 52%.
According to the company: “Every region delivered double-digit nights growth in Q3, with all five of our core markets—the U.S., France, the UK, Canada, and Australia—accelerating, along with nearly all of our expansion markets. In North America, nights booked grew at their fastest pace in four years. We’re also seeing more guests return to Airbnb, and more people try it for the first time. First-time booker growth accelerated to 13% year-over-year, the highest it has been since early 2022, with Gen Z growing the fastest.”
Q4 2026 Outlook
- Revenue of $3.22 billion to $3.28 billion, representing year-over-year growth of 16% to 18%
- Year-over-year GBV growth to be in the mid-teens, driven by at least low double-digit growth in Nights and Seats Booked and a modest increase in ADR, primarily due to mix shift and price appreciation.
- Adjusted EBITDA to increase year-over-year and for Adjusted EBITDA Margin to be down slightly compared to Q4 2025, partially due to the timing of marketing spend.
“We’re back in growth mode,” CEO Brian Chesky said on a post-earnings call.
The company also announced a new authorization to repurchase up to an additional $12 billion of its Class A common stock, reflecting its confidence in Airbnb’s future growth.
The company’s shares rose more than 12% in premarket trading on Friday following the announcement.
