Katy Perry is Forbes’ highest paid woman in music; Beyoncé fell to third place.

Forbes has released their list of the highest paid women in music for 2018.

After playing 80 dates on the world tour for her fifth album, Witness (where she grossed more than $1m per night), as well as earning more than $20m for her work as a judge on American Idol, Katy Perry is Forbes’ highest paid woman in music, earning $83m (£64.7m) in the period spanning June 2017 to June 2018.

Beyoncé, Forbes’ highest paid woman in music last year, falls to third place ($60m). Taylor Swift, with 28 years-old, rose from third place in 2017 to second this year with an $80m estimate.

Pink ($52 million), Lady Gaga ($50 million), Jennifer Lopez ($47 million), Rihanna ($37.5 million), Helene Fischer ($32 million), Celine Dion($31 million), and Britney Spears($30 million) are also on the 2018 list, but the revelation comes from Russian-German star Helene Fischer, who ranks in eighth place.

Music and more

Making music isn’t the only way these musicians are making bank.

Lady Gaga ranks at number five with a $50 million estimate as she added “movie star” to her résumé this year thanks to her role in A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper.

Rihanna, at seven with a $37.5 million-dollar mark, is cashing in on Fenty Beauty and Savage Lingerie, and although she hasn’t been on tour since 2016, Rihanna stays in the public eye with starring roles in films like Ocean’s 8.

Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, Madonna, Halsey and Janet Jackson are all female musicians who had lucrative years but did not make the list despite their double-digit millions.

This is the list of 2017.
