Bob Woodward’s upcoming book, “War,” will delve into the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and their influence on American presidential politics, Simon & Schuster announced Wednesday. Scheduled for release on October 15, the book promises an “intimate and sweeping account” of this tumultuous period, focusing on President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump, who is opposing Harris in the upcoming election.
“War” will feature detailed inside-the-room reporting, providing insights into Biden’s management of the Ukraine war, the largest land conflict in Europe since World War II, and his efforts to contain the Middle East conflict between Israel and Hamas. Additionally, the book will examine Vice President Harris’s attempts to embrace Biden’s legacy while charting her path as a presidential candidate.
Biden’s recent announcement that he would not seek re-election came just weeks before Woodward completed his manuscript, though he continues to report and may still update the book before printing. Woodward, renowned for his Watergate reporting, has authored over 20 books, many released ahead of national elections, including “Plan of Attack” in 2004 and “Peril” in 2020.
