US stock markets ended last week on an upbeat note last Friday, after the update of the important price information in a volatile context.
At the end of the day the Dow was up 0.55%, Standard and Poors 1.01% and the NASDAQ composite 1.13%. The Dow reached historic highs.
The Personal Consumption Expenditures Index (PCE) rose at expected levels elevating the chances of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve in September.
Markets shrugged off negative employment and retail sales data to continue an upward trajectory disregarding signals of a possible recession.
The tech sector came out of the week underperforming, as evidenced by the relatively weaker performance by the NADAQ.
