U.S. financial services company Citigroup is letting its staffers work remotely until the start of the new year, sources reportedly told CNBC.
Workers will be able to log in from anywhere in their country of employment between Monday to Friday, Dec. 29, after which they will be expected to return to work in person.
The temporary policy applies to the majority of Citigroup’s 240,000 workers.
“This past year has been one of significant change across the firm, and as we approach the end of 2023, we look forward to this special time of year,” said Citigroup’s human resources department in an internal memo. “We hope that you will enjoy a break from commuting while continuing to stay focused on closing out the year.”
