On Monday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced the development of a $10 billion chip-making center in the state.
New York’s new High NA Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Lithography will be funded in partnership with technology players IBM, Micron and Applied Materials.
The state will purportedly directly supply $1 billion to the project itself.
According to Hochul’s statement, the chip-making center could provide more than 700 jobs to the state and generate $9 billion in private spending.
