Unemployment rose in 13 states in July, was stable in 36 and fell in one this July, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The largest increases were in Massacusetts, Michigan and South Carolina with a 0.3% increase with connecticut posting the only employment rate decrease.
The lowest jobless rate in the US is in South Dakota which boats a mere 2.0% unemployment rate, followed by Vermont with 2.1% and North Dakota with 2.2%.
The states with the highest yearly rises in nonfarm payroll employment to date were California which added 284,000 workers, Texas with 265,000 and Florida with 229,000, while the atetes with the largest percentage increases were South Carolina with 3.7%, Nevada with 3.3% and Alaska with 3.1%.
The Labour Bureau statiostics come as a Fed survey on Monday showed a slowing down of the US job market as well as increased disatifaction with pay.
