NASA found “significant decreases” in nitrogen dioxide over China.

The coronavirus’s spread has the world fearing for an upcoming recession.

During the last week of February 2020, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped more than 1,000 points, or over 3%, as growing fears of the coronavirus outbreak continue to peak. It represented the stock index’s worst week since the 2008 financial crisis, according to ABC News.

So far, the coronavirus epidemic has caused unsettling supply chains, sapping sales of some products, a very rough challenge for travel and cruise companies, a constant freak out over the stock markets, and more, however, there is a good thing out of all of this, and it’s that NASA and the European Space Agency said their pollution monitoring satellites found “significant decreases” in nitrogen dioxide over China that’s “at least partly related to the economic slowdown” from the coronavirus outbreak. Researchers said this drop-off was without precedent.

According to NASA scientists, as millions of people have been quarantined in one of the largest such actions in human history, the reduction in NO2 pollution first became apparent near Wuhan, but it eventually spread across the entire country.
