U.S. carbon emissions reportedly fell 1.9% in 2023 despite the nation’s growing economy, said an analysis by the Rhodium Group.
“This is the first time since 2019 that the economy has grown while emissions have fallen,” said the Rhodium Group report.
According to the analysis, U.S. annual greenhouse gas emissions are currently 17% lower than they were measured at in 2005.
Meanwhile, the Biden Administration has set targets to slash the United States’ carbon emissions by more than 50% by the year 2030.
