A double whammy of natural disasters hit Southern California on Sunday, including the area’s first tropical storm in decades.
Tropical Storm Hilary, which has been on course toward the region for days, brought torrential downpours, winds and flooding to the Los Angeles and San Diego areas alongside its arrival.
An unexpected 5.1 magnitude earthquake, centered in Ojai, also affected the Southern California area Sunday afternoon.
FEMA agents and members of the U.S. Coast Guard were reportedly deployed to the region in order to help SoCal residents deal with the fallout from the events.
