According to a new report from the United Nations, more than 43 million children were displaced from their homes between 2016 and 2021 due to extreme weather events.
The UNICEF report went on to say that another 113 million children are expected to be displaced from their homes over the next three decades due to floods, storms and other meteorological events.
Droughts, which reportedly displaced children 1.3 million times according to the report, are also expected to become a worsening issue due to the lack of existing evacuation measures in these cases when compared to other weather phenomena.
As climate change continues, the UN says this continual displacement of children is only going to grow progressively worse.
