As the world attempts to move away from its dependency on fossil fuels, the clean energy transition is reportedly facing an increasing slew of issues while the oil and gas companies continue reaping soaring profits.
Scrapped renewable energy mega projects, supply chain problems, and slumps in electric vehicle demands are slowing the energy transition’s effective implementation.
“There will be no easy solution or quick fix to the energy transition,” said TC Energy executive pipeline operator James Yardley.
Meanwhile, carbon emissions are expected to reach an all-time high in 2024.
