Like a star, any person can have a powerful public image. The first step is to find your essence.

Carl Sagan used to say that “the nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of star stuff”.

What you really need to know is that even between stars there are levels of brightness and looks.

At the Museo de Historia Natural of Mexico City, you can find that the scientists made hilarious descriptions about the state of each star.

The stars named as protostars, composed mainly of hydrogen clouds, are new, white and really bright; there are also average stars, which are beautiful yellow and young, like the sun.

The red giant stars, according to the description, are the most powerful because in this stage they are the biggest, brightest and strongest of them all.

And that’s the kind of stardust (let’s be honest) that we all want to be.

So look at the mirror. You are the result of your own evolution, just like the universe, you can’t shine more if you have not learned from the past, and you will not have a better look if you don’t find your essence and position yourself in the stage you need to be in life.

The first step to having a powerful public image is to find your essence. It’s as simple as that.

If you’re a young protostar, that’s ok, but you have to find the elements that will enhance your image: a fresh look, a creative speech and a proactive attitude will be vital.

The key part here is to invest in your academic training, bet on your professional development and try to create a solid network of contacts because you will use it in the future.

With these advantages, if you are a young and yellow star it’s time to define what you want others to see in you, who are you, what do you want and how you are going to get it.

When you have a goal, you must define the way you persuade others. You can use your image to do things that make you go forward to this goal.

Remember that your image must be aligned with your essence: if you are a romantic person you must look like as a professional and capable romantic; and if you are a seductor, you have to learn how to seduce others to get what you want.

Once your image has been consolidated, you will be a red giant star.

These ones have a tremendous gravitational force, and you will too. If you have an empowered image, a clear goal and a strategy, all the opportunities will come to you. Do not doubt this for a second.

This is the time to be selective, intelligent and wise to advance in the way you want to go. This is the time to look like a powerful person, time to invest in your clothes, your hair, your speech and all the elements of presentation that will be your brand.

So, all of us are already made of stardust… It’s time to shine.
