On late Wednesday night, the United Auto Workers labor union announced the expansion of its strike against automaking giant Ford, hitting Ford’s biggest plant.
The UAW ordered 8,700 workers to strike at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant, which is responsible for producing the automakers’ SUVs and heavy duty F series.
The UAW reportedly called for the strike following a brief negotiation session with Ford on Wednesday night.
“We have been crystal clear, and we have waited long enough, but Ford has not gotten the message,” said UAW President Shawn Fain.
