General Motors’ robotaxi subsidiary cruise is recalling the entirety of its 950 vehicle fleet, the company announced Wednesday.
The vehicles will reportedly go through software updates to increase their safety on the road, just weeks after Cruise announced the suspension of its public testing operations and the California Department of Motor of Vehicles paused the company’s operations in the state.
According to Cruise, the updates will increase the vehicles’ impact detection and subsequent response.
Cruise told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that all 950 vehicles will be ready to return to service following the updates.
