Launch of the Top 10 Emerging Tech of 2021
Share on LinkedinShare on WhatsApp

In the final episode of this Emerging Technologies series, we launch the 10th anniversary edition of the World Economic Forum’s Top 10 Emerging Technologies Report, which contains an entirely new and forward-looking list of breakthrough technologies poised to impact the world in the next three to five years.

Join experts from the World Economic Forum and Scientific American as they highlight technological advances that could change the world – from self-fertilizing crops, on-demand drug manufacturing, breath-sensing diagnostics to 3D-printed houses.

This year the World Economic Forum and Scientific American are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Top 10 Emerging Technologies Report. Over the past nine years, experts have made predictions about the emerging technologies expected to have major social, economic and environmental impacts worldwide. But how well did these technologies end up performing, and how will they impact our lives in the years ahead?

In the run up to the 2021 report launch on 16 November, we look back at some of the technologies from the past nine reports with the help of leading experts and ask: did the technology change the world, or did it fail to fulfil its potential? How is it impacting lives today, and where is it headed?

Join the conversation using the #EmergingTech. The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. We believe that progress happens by bringing together people from all walks of life who have the drive and the influence to make positive change.
