On Monday, Colorado released five gray wolves out into the Rockies as part of a plan to reintroduce the species into the environment.
The move comes following Coloradian’s vote in favor of the wolves’ reintroduction on a 2020 ballot measure.
The wolves were released in an undisclosed location as a matter of protection for the animals.
State officials are reportedly planning to release a total of up to 50 gray wolves back into the Rockies over the next five years.
