On Thursday, U.S. fast-casual restaurant chain TGI Fridays announced the abrupt closure of 36 locations across the United States.
The newly shuttered restaurants are spread across New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts, the chain reported.
TGI Fridays noted that 80% of staff affected by the closures were offered “transfer opportunities.”
“Our top priority has always been delivering a superior experience for each and every TGI Friday’s guest, and we’ve identified opportunities to optimize and streamline our operations to ensure we are best positioned to meet – and exceed – on that brand promise,” said TGI Fridays COO Ray Risley.
