According to a consumer sentiment survey conducted by the University of Michigan, U.S. consumers are feeling increasingly optimistic about the future of inflation in the country.
Americans’ concerns about ongoing inflation reduced to 3.1% in September, down .4% from the month prior.
The survey results stated that this is “the lowest since March 2021 and just above the 2.3-3.0% range seen in the two years prior to the pandemic.”
However, experts have noted that rising gas prices could affect U.S. consumers’ sentiments surrounding inflation in the months to come.
