According to a regulatory filing on June 30, Elon Musk owns a 48.4% stake in SpaceX, which is valued at over $900 billion based on current market prices.
Musk owns 6.42 billion shares and has exclusive voting and control rights, according to the filing. Since the IPO, he has maintained over 82% of SpaceX’s voting power, illustrating his significant influence over the company.
The rockets-to-AI company went public on June 12 with a record-setting IPO that raised $85.7 billion and pushed its market cap beyond $2 trillion.
The stake includes 849.5 million Class A shares owned by trusts where Musk acts as a trustee, 3.92 billion Class B shares held by those trusts, 1.30 billion restricted Class B shares owned by Musk, and 350 million Class B shares that can be issued if stock options are exercised.
SpaceX shares dropped nearly 33% by the end of July but increased 30% in August following quarterly results and the lifting of the first lockup restrictions.
Earlier this month, SpaceX published its first quarterly earnings since going public, showing over a 90% rise in revenue and a significant surge in capital expenditure.
SpaceX shares rose 2% in premarket trading Friday following the announcement.
