OpenAI announced that Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser is departing her position less than a year after joining the artificial intelligence lab. She will be replaced by Dali Rajic, who previously served as the president and chief operating officer of the cybersecurity company.

This unexpected move comes as the company gears up for what is expected to be a significant IPO.

The company stated that Dresser is departing “to pursue other opportunities,” as per a release. OpenAI has brought on Dali Rajic, formerly the president and COO of cybersecurity firm Wiz, as her replacement.

“The opportunity to work hands-on with the most transformative technology in the world has been nothing short of incredible,” Dresser wrote in a Thursday LinkedIn post. “I am so proud of what we have accomplished and, even more, of how this team has shown up for our customers and one another.”

Greg Brockman, President and Co-Founder said, “We’re moving into a compute-powered economy, with AI becoming embedded in every workflow. Denise has led our revenue organization through a formative period for the business and has worked tirelessly to get the team to where it is today. The way we’re deploying this technology is changing rapidly, and Dali will turn what we’ve learned into repeatable execution as we build out the full system to make AI broadly useful for people and businesses.”

“OpenAI has extraordinary technology, products that more than one billion people already love, and enormous market pull. I’m excited to join the team, build on the momentum already in place, and lead the revenue organization as we help customers realize the full value of AI.” — Dali Rajic, Chief Revenue Officer

Dresser’s departure is the second senior exit from OpenAI within days. Brad Lightcap, a longtime executive at OpenAI, announced on Tuesday that he is leaving the company to “start something new,” as he shared in a post on X.
