On Wednesday, General Motors announced it would be cutting its spending on Cruise, the company’s controversial robotaxi service.
“We expect the pace of Cruise expansion to be more deliberate when operations resume and spending will be substantially lower in 2024 than it was in 2023,” said GM CEO Mary Barra.
GM previously suspended Cruise’s operations following a series of incidents during the company’s initial run in San Francisco.
The news follows the resignation of Cruise’s CEO and co-founder, Kyle Vogt, last week.
