Netflix is the on-demand digital king, producing more series than any other during 2017.

Media consumption through digital formats is happening at a very impressive rate.

According to Statista, 2017 saw 114 new series being produced through streaming services.

Platforms such as Youtube, Apple, Facebook, and Hulu fought to offer a variety of content to satisfy consumers, however, Netflix seems to have won.

Hulu, Apple Music, CBS, Facebook, and Crackle completed the list of on-demand TV productions.

As another milestone of the investigation, all of the mentioned before made 2017 a year of surpassing the amount of releases in previous years, which makes the Netflix achievement all that more attractive.

Mobile is driving digital on-demand consumption

According to a recent Deloitte research, mobile devices have taken over as the preferred medium of consuming online media while the smartphone market has seen an unprecedented growth in the last 5 years.

The index assures smartphone devices across the globe grew at a CAGR of 17% as compared to 9.5% growth in all mobile devices. Smartphones crossed 2 billion mark in 2014 and are expected to reach 4.6 billion by 2019.

The increase in the number of mobile devices facilitates consumers to access music and video content on the go, turning video into the future of marketing and consumer connection.

As technology adoptions grow, video in the palm of your hand will represent 79% of all mobile traffic by 2020 as millennials are re-shaping video content.

A 5G Americas study proved 30.6% of answering millennials said they saw more than 2 hours of video per week, while 11.7% saw more than 5 hours per week and were more likely to use their data connection while doing so.
