On Thursday, social media platform Snapchat announced it’s rolling out on new safety features created to protect its teen userbase.
Snapchat’s parent company said it would be implementing restrictions on recommended friends and the removal of content inappropriate for minors for its users between 13 and 17 years old.
The platform also launched a series of videos explaining its new parental controls and a web page with additional information on the new safety features.
The move comes a year after Snapchat launched its Family Center, which gave minor users’ parents more in-depth information about who their children communicate with on the application.
