According to Chinese technology giant Baidu, the company’s newest iteration of its artificial intelligence platform is on par with OpenAI’s mega-popular GPT-4.
Baidu officially revealed ERNIE 4.0, the fourth generation of the AI platform, to the public on Tuesday during its flagship event.
CEO Robin Li said ERNIE 4.0 “is not inferior in any aspect to GPT-4.”
While the chatbot is geared mainly toward Mandarin, Li went on to reveal that ERNIE 4.0 can also handle prompts in English with a less advanced output.
