Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference will return this summer, taking place from June 10 to 14. Some developers will be invited to the company’s campus in Cupertino, California, while the majority will have to watch it via livestream on Apple’s website.
As usual, the tech giant will reveal the newest versions of its product software for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, Apple Watch and Vision Pro headset at this event. However, it’s anticipated that there will also be a focus on Apple’s long-anticipated artificial intelligence strategy and how it might integrate into consumer products.
“We’re so excited to connect with developers from around the world for an extraordinary week of technology and community at WWDC24,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, in a news release. “WWDC is all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful.”
Recently, Apple was reportedly in talks with Google to license and build Google’s AI engine, Gemini, into upcoming versions of the iPhone and iOS 18. Researchers at Apple also shared recently that they have developed a group of multimodal models, MMI, which is an AI system that can generate and analyze various types of data, such as images and text, at the same time.
