Technology giant Apple has purchased Swedish classical record label BIS Records, the label announced Tuesday.
The move comes as Apple continues to aim to bring more classical music fans over to its Apple Music streaming platform and its offshoot, Apple Music Classical.
“Apple, with its own storied history of innovation and love of music, is the ideal home to usher in the next era of classical and has shown true commitment towards building a future in which classical music and technology work in harmony,” said BIS Records founder Robert von Bahr.
BIS Records now joins classical music streaming services Primephonic and Platoon as part of Apple’s classical music acquisitions.
