Summer 2023 has certainly been one for the books with its plethora of female-focused phenomena.
From movies like blockbuster juggernaut ‘Barbie’ to mega concerts like Taylor Swift’s Eras tour and Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, women-powered moments have dominated the cultural zeitgeist.
This has given women a chance to flex their spending power in turn, boosting ‘Barbie’ to more than $1 billion at the box office while the Eras tour is expected to generate $320 million for the Los Angeles economy in just six nights.
Considering women make up or influence 80 percent of consumer purchasing power in the United States, this summer could signal the beginning of a new influx of women-focused cultural events and content aiming to tap into the almighty female dollar.
