Though Hollywood studios are ramping up to please U.S. moviegoers in the new year, mounting franchise fatigue may have consumers snoozing in their seats at the theater in 2024.
Studios are seemingly betting big on intellectual property in 2024, with films like “Dune: Part 2,” “Deadpool 3” and “Beetlejuice” slated to hit theaters later in the year.
However, analysts have cautioned that an overwhelming quantity of sequels could cause moviegoers to shy away from visiting the cinema.
With only one week into the new year, it remains to be seen if studios can properly incentivize Americans toward the silver screen or if franchise fatigue will ultimately affect their annual bottom line.
