The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced Tuesday that the number of jobs available in the United States has dropped to its lowest level in two years.
The agency’s data revealed that there were 9.582 million jobs available in June, down from 12 million available jobs in March 2022.
June also marked the country’s second consecutive month of declining job availability.
According to economic experts, the shrinking number of available employment positions is a positive indicator that the U.S. economy is heading toward the Federal Reserve’s sought-after “soft landing.”
