Just a few months after announcing its previous model of artificial intelligence chips, Nvidia has announced the next generation, with its CEO pledging to release new AI chip technology every year.
CEO Jensen Huang share news of the new chip architecture, which Nvidia calls “Rubin,” before the upcoming COMPUTEX tech conference in Taipei. Given how quickly the company has introduced this new chip model—a successor to “Blackwall,” which is in production and shipping later this year—indicates that its speeding up its pace of AI chip advancement.
Huang said it will debut new AI chip models on a “one-year rhythm,” more quickly than its previous two-year timeline. “Today, we’re at the cusp of a major shift in computing,” Huang said. “With our innovations in AI and accelerated computing, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and driving the next wave of technological advancement.”
