Just as Twitter users are fuming over Elon Musk’s decision to limit access to the social network platform, Meta announced that it will soon be releasing its own microblogging app called Threads.
Due to hit the markets on Thursday, Threads could prove to be a formidable competitor for Twitter, which has faced falling revenue and other challenges since Musk took over the company in October.
Meta is building its new blogging app off its existing Instagram user base, a strategic maneuver that could allow Threads to quickly gain traction.
The new app will allow users to keep their Instagram username.
