Today, Tesla released its latest sales statistics, revealing that the company’s sales have dropped by 13% in the first three months of this year.
In the first quarter, the company delivered 336,681 vehicles, a decrease from 386,810 in 2024. This data indicates a decline of 50,000 vehicles compared to the previous year.
The EV company’s losses follow a surge in other EV offerings amid a recent backlash against Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Since Tesla has faced protests outside its showrooms worldwide, sales in Europe dropped 49% in the first two months of the quarter, despite EV sales across the continent increasing by 28%.
The decline in Tesla demand is also affecting the used car market. According to research from Cars.com, searches for used Teslas dropped by 16% over the past month, while the demand for used non-Tesla electric vehicles increased by almost 30% over the past year.
Car owners looking to trade in their Teslas are reportedly accepting bids significantly lower than market value due to a lack of interest in the brand.
