General Motors’ latest Sales and Deliveries report indicates that the company topped the U.S. auto industry in sales in 2025, with a 6% increase for the full year and growth across multiple segments of its portfolio.
GM is America’s full-size pickup leader for the 6th straight year, with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra recording their best combined sales in 20 years.
The company also led the full-size SUV market for the 51st consecutive year. GM was the industry’s #2 EV seller in 2025.
In 2025, GMC set a new sales record for the second consecutive year. Cadillac posted its best sales in a decade. Chevrolet’s SUV lineup achieved its best sales ever. Buick was among the industry’s fastest-growing mainstream brands.
Despite leading the US market, GM sales in the fourth quarter declined 7% compared to the same period in 2024.
In a statement, Duncan Aldred, GM senior VP and president of North America, said, “Demand for our brands and products is strong at every price point, and we are well‑positioned to build on this momentum in the year ahead.”
GM is one of the few automakers to report U.S. sales gains for 2025. Others include Toyota, with an 8% increase; Hyundai and Kia, each marking their third consecutive year of record sales with increases of 8.4% and 7%, respectively; and Honda Motor, which has seen a 0.5% rise.
GM shares increased by 3% following the announcement.
