On Monday, Walt Disney Pictures’ visual effects workers reportedly filed with the National Labor Relations Board for an election to unionize.
While VFX workers have largely been left unrepresented by unions, the new Disney staff filing is backed by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees,
According to the IATSE, more than 80% of Disney’s VFW staff signed authorization cards Monday.
The filing comes just weeks after Marvel’s VFX workers moved to unionize.
