Traditional cable and broadcast TV viewership fell below 50% in July, revealed Nielsen’s monthly streaming report.
July’s 49.6% share marks a historic low for traditional cable and broadcast viewership as the popularity of streaming services continues to surge.
Overall, cable TV viewership is down 12.5% year-over-year while broadcast TV viewership is down 5.4% over this same period.
For its part, streaming increased its viewership share to 39% in July, the sector’s highest percentage on record.
