Members of the United Auto Workers voted to approve possible strikes at three major U.S. automakers on Friday.
Approximately 97% of UAW members voted in favor of the potential strikes at General Motors, Ford and Stellantis.
Following the vote, the automakers issued statements expressing their commitment to negotiate favorable deals with the UAW before reaching a strike.
“We look forward to working with the UAW on creative solutions during this time when our dramatically changing industry needs a skilled and competitive workforce more than ever,” said Ford.
