Thanks to its service, business class seats and excellent safety record, Qatar Airline earned the designation of the best airline in the world from AirlineRatings.com.
The website reviewed safety and government audits, as well as factors such as passenger reviews, innovation and fleet age, to make its selections. While the airline reigned victorious in a variety of areas, said AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas, “the passenger reviews, however, scored Qatar Airways ahead of all airlines and its consistency and high standard of service delivery came through in the feedback.”
Korean Air took second place in the rankings, followed by Cathay Pacific Airways, Air New Zealand and Emirates. Singapore Airlines took the No. 1 spot for the best first class, while Air New Zealand snagged the top spot for best economy class.
As for U.S. carriers, Hawaiian Airlines was voted No. 18 on the top 25 list, while Alaska Airlines earned the No. 19 stop. Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines finished as No. 23, 24 and 25, respectively. Although Southwest didn’t reach the top 25 list, it did earn accolades as the best low-cost airline in the Americas.
