Support for the banning of TikTok has fallen to 32% among US adults, according to the latest report from Pew Reasearch with Republicans and republican leaningh independents far more likely to support a ban.
Meanwhile 61% of users of the Chinese social media app oppose a ban while 10% support it. Approximately 50% of all American think TikTok will be banned.
TikTok has come under scrutiny over data violation and mental health concerns as well as misinformation and the Israel-Gaza war.
TikTok is owned by the Chinese company Bytedance and is based in Culver City California.
US lawmakers have poroposed to ban tikTok through the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act which is currently being appealed by the company.
