The US principal stock indexes had mixed results at the end of Tuesday in the wake of today’s much anticipated rate decisiones from the Fed, with the Dow Jones slightly down and the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 slightly up.
After a trading session full of ups and downs the Dow Jones lost 0.04% down ta 41,606.18 while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.02% to reach 17628.06 and the S&P 500 rose 0.03% to reach 5634.58.
This represented the seventh day in a row that the S&P rose and the sixth consecutive positive day for the Nasdaq.
The Dow Jones and S&P 500 are currently close to historical highs.
Investors have beenr eacting to better than expected retail sales figures which have moderated fears of a recession.
