The Iphone 16 launched last week is showing pre-order sales of 37 million units, 13% down from pre-order sales of the Iphone 15.
Apple supply chain analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, also noted that the decline in demand for the Iphone 16 pro and Pro Max corresponded to higher demand for base models, as predictions that the AI features of the new phone would detonate a super-cycle faiked to materialize
These AI features were not available to launch and would be incorporated through later software updates.
The diappointing results come as Chinese competitor Huawei launched its Mate XT to great fanfare with significante AI features and a triple folding screen.
