A proposal by Republican House Speaker on Sunday unveiled a new temporary government funding proposal amending an earlier proposal from the beginning of September.
The bill proposes funding for the government through 20 December in what Johnson called a “very, narrow, bare-bones” bill to avoid government shut-down.
Congress has until 1 October to pass bill funding the government at pain of risking a partial government shut-down.
The bill omits an election security proposal backed by the Donald Trump campaign requiring proof of citizenship to register as a voter.
