According to the United Auto Workers labor union, 4,000 UAW members have joined the union’s ongoing strike following the rejection of a tentative agreement with major heavy truck manufacturer Mack Trucks.
More than 73% of UAW workers voted against the proposed agreement with Mack, the union said.
The rejected agreement purportedly contained a 10% pay raise, a $3,500 signing bonus and better holiday and vacation days, among other benefits.
“I’m inspired to see UAW members at Mack holding out for a better deal, and ready to stand up and walk off the job to win it,” UAW President Shawn Fain said on social media.
