On Thursday, members of the United Auto Workers labor union at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant voted in favor of ratifying the union’s tentative deal with the automaking giant.
Approximately 82% of rank-and-file workers at the plant, the first facility to vote on the matter, voted in favor of the deal with a reported 80% turnout.
The Michigan Assembly Plant vote will be followed by ratification votes at Ford’s other 35 plants with UAW representation.
The vote on the Ford deal, the first the UAW struck with the Big Three automakers, is expected to soon be followed with votes on the union’s pending deals with General Motors and Stellantis.
