On Tuesday, U.S. automaking giant General Motors announced it would be temporarily pausing the expansion of the company’s electric truck production.
According to the company, GM’s plans to open a second factory for its EV trucks are now suspended until at least 2025.
GM currently builds its Silverado EV out of the Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly, where it also plans to produce the GMC Sierra EV next year.
However, GM noted that the pause has nothing to do with the ongoing United Auto Workers strike.
