The main US stocks market indexes ended Monday with increases to historic highs as markets await data which could validate a positive economic environment.
At the end of the session the Dow Jones Industrial Index rose 0.15% to 42124.6, Standard and Poor’s 500 rose 0.28% to reach 5718.57 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.14% to reach 17974.27.
This marked the third consecutive historic high for the Dow and its fourth of the month as investors await data on the US economic performance in 2Q24, as well the Personal Consumption Expenditures price Index or PCE data which will be published this week.
Currently investor consensus seems to be that the US economy will avoid a recession and inflation remains under control.
