Billionaire Elon Musk’s brain implant startup, Neuralink, began recruiting for human trials on Tuesday, said the company in a blog post.
Neuralink is searching for subjects to test the safety and efficacy of its Precise Robotically Implanted Brain-Computer Interface, known as PRIME.
A robot will reportedly implant the chip into the area of the subject’s brain that controls movement.
According to Neuralink’s blog, the aim of the trials is “to grant people the ability to control a computer cursor or keyboard using their thoughts alone.”
