Controversial cryptocurrency entrepreneur and FTX Trading Ltd. founder Sam Bankman-Fried had his bail revoked and was sent to jail on Friday by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan.
Kaplan made the decision after finding “probable cause to believe that the defendant has attempted to tamper with witnesses at least twice.”
Legal representation for Bankman-Fried announced they will be appealing the federal judge’s order in the days ahead.
Bankman-Fried, who is accused of stealing billions of dollars from his former FTX clients and defrauding investors, is expected to begin his trial on Oct. 2.
