On Tuesday, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and 17 states filed a joint suit against Amazon on antitrust charges.
The long-anticipated suit purports that Amazon has wielded “monopoly power” to undermine its competition and limit U.S. consumers’ shopping options.
According to the suit, Amazon implements anti-discounting measures to prevent other retailers from offering lower prices as well as strong arms sellers to use its shipping fulfillment services.
Amazon stock fell 4% Tuesday following the news of the suit.
